Steellogy manufactures heavy-duty industrial knives for the recycling industry — granulator knives, shredder blades, pelletizer knives, and crusher blades. Our recycling knives are engineered for the toughest materials: plastics, rubber, wood waste, e-waste, and mixed streams. European-made with certified tool steels, rigorous quality control, and competitive pricing.
Granulator Knives
Granulator knives are the cutting core of size reduction equipment used to process plastics, rubber, and other recyclable materials into uniform granules. Blade sharpness and dimensional precision directly determine granule quality, throughput, and energy consumption. Dull or poorly manufactured granulator knives produce oversized particles, increase fines, and drive up electricity costs.
Steellogy produces granulator knives from D2 tool steel (HRC 58-62) for standard applications and from powder metallurgy steels for abrasive-filled plastics. Our granulator blades are compatible with Cumberland, Rapid, Zerma, Herbold, Hellweg, and other leading granulator manufacturers. Available as rotor knives and bed knives in all standard configurations.
Shredder Blades
Industrial shredder blades must withstand extreme impact and abrasion from processing heterogeneous waste streams. Whether shredding plastics, tires, wood waste, or electronic waste, shredder knives face unpredictable loads from mixed materials and contaminants. Steellogy shredder blades are manufactured from high-chromium, high-carbon tool steels with optimized heat treatment for maximum toughness and wear resistance.
Our shredder blades are compatible with Vecoplan, Lindner, Untha, Weima, SSI Shredding Systems, and other major shredder manufacturers. Available in single-shaft, dual-shaft, and four-shaft configurations.
Pelletizer Knives
Pelletizer knives cut extruded plastic strands into uniform pellets in the final stage of plastics recycling. These blades require extreme precision — even slight variations in blade geometry cause irregular pellet shapes and processing problems downstream. Steellogy pelletizer knives are ground to tight, drawing-controlled tolerances from corrosion-resistant tool steels suitable for underwater and strand pelletizing systems.
Steel Grades for Recycling Knives
Recycling applications demand careful steel grade selection based on the processed material. For standard plastics granulating, D2 tool steel (HRC 58-62) provides excellent wear resistance at a competitive price. For glass-filled or mineral-filled plastics, PM (powder-metallurgy) tool steels deliver dramatically longer blade life. Shredder applications favour high-toughness cold-work tool steels (e.g. DC53 / A8-class) that resist impact and tramp-metal contamination. For a broader overview of knife selection criteria across applications, see our complete paper cutting knife guide — the same metallurgical principles apply across sectors. Our engineering team recommends the optimal steel grade based on your specific material stream and production requirements.
