Six part families cover most of a converting line.
Dimensions, steel grade and hardness are set per order. If a part falls outside these families, send the drawing anyway — the process is the same.

Industrial Knives for Paper Cutting — Guillotine Blades, Slitter Knives & Sheeter Blades
Steellogy manufactures industrial knives for the paper and packaging industry — guillotine blades for sheet cutting, circular slitter knives for web converting, sheeter blades and counter knives. Every blade is produced in our own plant in Poland from certified tool steels, with material documentation per batch.
Guillotine Blades for Paper Cutting
Paper guillotine blades are the workhorse of sheet cutting in print finishing, packaging and paper converting: long, straight industrial knives cutting through stacks of paper, cardboard and board against a cutting stick. Steellogy produces guillotine blades in HSS (High Speed Steel) and tungsten-carbide-tipped versions; length, height, thickness and hole pattern are manufactured to the buyer-approved drawing, because guillotine knives are model-specific.
Our paper guillotine blades are compatible with guillotines from Polar, Wohlenberg and Perfecta, among others. Hardness is selected per steel grade and application and stated in the order confirmation. For a broader overview of blade types and selection criteria, see our complete paper cutting knife guide.
Circular Slitter Knives
Circular slitter knives slit continuous webs into narrower widths on slitter-rewinders, running as paired top and bottom knives in a rotating shear cut. Knife condition directly affects slit-edge quality and dust generation — a worn knife shows up as lint, ragged edges and web breaks before it fails outright.
Steellogy manufactures industrial slitter knives from D2 tool steel, HSS M2 and tungsten carbide — carbide preferred for abrasive stocks and long runs. Our slitter blades are compatible with converting lines from manufacturers including Kampf, Goebel IMS, Valmet, Andritz and BW Papersystems. Diameter, bore and edge profile are ground to the drawing; the knife must also match the holder and overlap setup, which is why we ask for the machine model with the enquiry.
Rewinder and Sheeter Blades
Sheeter knives cut the running web cross-direction into sheets with a rotary knife working against a bedknife; rewinder and trim blades handle edge and trim positions. Consistent cut quality at line speed depends on blade geometry, steel grade and surface finish — and on the match between the rotary knife and its bedknife, so where possible we quote them as a pair. Compatible with sheeters and rewinders from manufacturers including Pasaban, Valmet and Andritz.
Steel Grades for Paper Cutting Knives
For circular slitter and score knives, D2 tool steel is the common grade; HSS M2 is used where edge retention on coated and abrasive stocks matters; tungsten-carbide-tipped blades are the usual choice for the most abrasive webs and the longest runs, at higher initial cost. Published OEM hardness values for slitter and log-saw blades do not exist — delivered hardness is agreed per order and stated in the order confirmation.
For guillotine knives, the material families offered across the industry run from HSS with 18% tungsten for contaminated and board stock, through Cr-W-Mo tool steels, to carbide-tipped edges for clean stock and maximum precision. Send your substrate and run length with the enquiry and we confirm the grade on the quotation.
Why Choose Steellogy for Paper Cutting Knives
Steellogy is a European manufacturer of industrial knives for the paper industry. Every blade ships with material documentation and a hardness measurement per batch; we use certified European tool steel with documented grade, so metallurgical properties stay consistent batch after batch. For context on OEM vs aftermarket sourcing decisions, see our analysis of OEM vs aftermarket industrial knives.
Pricing is competitive versus OEM blade costs, with the material and hardness stated on the offer so the comparison is on record. Fast delivery across the EU. Contact Steellogy for a quote on industrial knives for paper cutting — guillotine blades, slitter knives, rewinder blades or custom parts.
