What the part does
Packaging knives separate a length of material from a continuous web. A 2024 packaging patent describes knives on a rotating roller working against a counter-cutting element to cut blanks from the web, and treats the working distance between them and their parallel alignment as part of the assembly. That is the practical point for a replacement part: a web knife works in a pair, and a knife that is correct in outline but wrong in thickness or straightness will not cut cleanly against its counter element.
Paper, foil and film are separate categories in aftermarket listings, and they behave differently at the edge. The name of the category identifies the enquiry; the approved geometry defines the item we make. One packing line also has several cutting modules, so the enquiry has to say which one the knife comes from.
Machines and stations
Applications include drawing-defined paper and foil knives on packers and film knives on overwrapping equipment. Focke & Co supplies cigarette packaging machinery, including packers and film-wrapping equipment; the name identifies packaging, not a tobacco cutter or a cigarette-rod maker. Likewise, G.D X-series machines are packers, while the G.D 121 is the maker.
Aftermarket category listings mention paper and foil cutting parts across several machine brands without establishing a complete part-by-brand matrix, and the OEMs do not publish which knife variant belongs to which machine revision. We therefore identify the installed station and drawing revision for the individual order; where a packer or wrapper has been modified, the specified station revision remains the reference for manufacture.

How it wears and when to change it
A packaging knife is usually taken out on cut quality rather than on a measured dimension: ragged edges, tails on the film, or blanks that do not separate cleanly. Because the cut is made against a counter element, the working distance and alignment are worth checking at the same time as the knife.
The replacement criterion for your station is agreed with you from its records and the machine instructions, and written into the order alongside the part specification.
Materials and hardness
The required material is agreed for the packaging knife's drawing and application. A material listed for a cigarette rod or filter knife does not specify the knife on a paper, foil or film station, which cuts a different material in a different way. The quotation identifies the proposed grade, hardness and any surface treatment for the individual part.
Where the drawing is incomplete, the worn knife and the station information form the basis of a proposal for your approval. Heat treatment, grinding and finishing are done in our own plant in Poland.
Made to your drawing — quality and documents
The order defines the knife separately from any mating or clamping parts supplied with it, and assembly information can be included with the blade drawing. For a reconstruction from a worn knife, the features lost to wear are agreed before manufacture, and the finished knife is assessed against the approved specification.
Before dispatch, dimensions, hardness and edge condition are checked on a sample from each batch. Material documentation, hardness reports and dimensional inspection records are available on request; their scope is confirmed in the quotation. Trial batch and comparison on one machine
We quote a paid trial batch, with quantity, price, lead time, acceptance criteria and the number of comparison cycles stated in writing. It is not a free sample, not a guaranteed result. The proposed measure is accepted cuts or packaging pieces between replacements, with the unit of output, web specification, pack format and speed defined the same way for both knife types. A change of wrapping material during the run is recorded as a change of conditions, and you receive the comparison in writing under our single-machine comparison protocol.

No. A rod cut-off knife cuts the formed cigarette rod on the maker, while this family cuts paper, foil and film in packaging. G.D X-series machines are packers; the 121 is the maker. Our quotation records the actual station, so the drawing and the sample identify the right part.
